WHY THIS COSTUME

Four years later and Fire Emblem: Three Houses still runs my life. Rhea’s design always appealed to me, but what prompted me to go for it was inheriting several of her pieces from Lutavia Cosplay. Lutavia had purchased The Dangerous Ladies resin pieces for a different iteration of Rhea, and when they decided to table the project, they offered the pieces to me. With the hard part out of the way, I set out to make the rest of the costume!

HOW I MADE IT

As mentioned above, the resin bits were from The Dangerous Ladies. Some of the pieces are very delicate, so I had to reprint those (again using The Dangerous Ladies’ files) at my work’s Makerspace. After the usual body shopping on the resin and 3d printed pieces, I gave everything an oil wash in black to really make the detail lines pop. It’s my favorite part of the costume! Most of the hardware attaches via hidden magnets or velcro sewn into the wig and dress.

I built the dress using patterns and vectors from IndigoJinjo. The dress and capelet are made from polyester satin, and the printed satin is again from The Dangerous Ladies. The cape is held in place with a harness that’s secured around my underbust.

To give this costume a little extra hourglass shape, I made a longline underbust corset and wear a mermaid petticoat, originally made to go with my Mistress 9 cosplay.
